Ever since everybody realised how important JM was to Equity, the eternal question has become, who'll fill JM's size 23 shoes when he leaves.
It has become such an issue that even the normally dozzy CBK has gotten involved.
6 years down the line, many failed experiments, I still think Mary Wamae should be given the job. Illogical I know.
But Julius Kipngetich is not the answer...Ireri would do a better job imho.

ireri and wamae would not resonate with its clients and workers imagine the two opening a branch in gikomba they are too posh

KIP AND JM have similar management styles bottom - up approach especially to workers that what made the two organizations to stand out in the last decade

Have you checked the projects HFCK are undertaking targeting the common? Have you checked their products (loans, savings accounts, current accounts)? If you do, you will realize that Ireli is a smart and versatile manager able to move an organisation to heights. Just like Equity Bank shareholders needs Mwangi to stay, HFCK's need Ireri to stay

Any wise management always plans for succession. Like Berkshire Hathaway is doing now. Im sure JM has planned for it, all great managers should.

and me think KIP has been tapped to take over from JM later.

This move en that of MOO of KCB of allowing room for others to take charge is commendable as now organizations have human resource growth.
The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence

It remains to be seen what role the ethnic equation will play in the final analysis.
