Why not consider mission hospitals? Kijabe, St. Mary's, Kikuyu Mission, Nazareth etc? A caeserian there costs 25k. Normal birth costs 10k. As a father, i'd say many people want to complicate the child birth issue. Why pay through the nose for a 1 day affair?

mMy gyna also based at UHMC charged 85,000/= for twins and has direct lines with nairobi mostly agha khan and KN was able to book the thearter at his convinience.

Why would you go to a mission or public hospital and pay that 25k if your Insurance can foot the 200k bill in Aga khan or Nairobi Hospital? Ati attending public facilities will improve their conditions, how now? Kenyans make all sorts of sacrifices to make sure their kids get the best that life has to offer, i believe our parents did the same thing.....People have different priorities!

just out of curiosity, who has the numbers of the number of births that occur in kenya daily? out of these, how many are in these so called 'expensive' hospitals? Then compare the safety and mortality rates. My guess is hii maneno ya elective CS, 'expensive' hospital ni kujishasha tu, if you couldnt afford it ungezalia pumwani and be fine like all other kids, bora upeleke mtoto clinic and you get attention from qualified and experienced mid wives, nurses and docs. Otherwise kulipa 200k for popping!! na salo yangu ni 30k? Okiyal, Asi!!
