Where is the infrastructure to offer the universal healthcare services?

Where does the infrastructure come from if you refuse to pay??

We have to start somewhere!!

you are missing the point here my friend.

How does the gava improve if the infrastructure is not there. I have not seen or heard any improvement on healthcare providers apart from the containers and madahanas.

2K may be peanuts to you to others its sim sim while others its all they cherish

Clearly @Guru you are way off the point!

The minute you start paying, you become an NHIF customer.

Lets say you are in some towns where GoK hospitals don't have an X-Ray machine where does that leave you?

Would you deposit your money with someone the premise that he will use your money to open a bank branch network?

its relief.

Those who thought they can steal our money to fund their campaigns shud think twice.

We shall continue going to court until Nyong'o leaves cabinet.

How foolish can we be?? How will GOK improve if we do not give them a chance?

2k per month on 100k income for health insurance is peanuts!

Peanuts!

NHIF is not a model to be proud of. With an annual revenue of Sh 4.8 billion, a huge administrative cost of 40% and a pay-out ratio of a mere 30% or so.

With the proposed hike... this will reach Sh 25 billion. Now, tell me that is still peanuts

I already have a medical scheme to cover me and my dependants, why should I be forced into another one to cover the same me and my dependants? This is definitely not a universal medical scheme for all kenyans because it only covers members and their dependants which we already have! Is it me who doesnt understand or what? For example if I already have a motor vehicle insurance with Copmany A, why should I be forced to take another insurance from Company B and pay another premium for the same vehicle, doesnt make sence.

The only way out is for govt to inroduce tax to all kenyans to cover the uncovered.

Being employed is becoming a sin n this country. Now NSSF also want to impose 6% on our salaries as contributions........ woiiiii yawa!

i read the nssf act 2012.looks interesting.looks like a good concept to encourage savings.

My biggest beef with this is that those bearing the burden will not benefit from it ie most employed have medical covers.

Also, I view this as a regressive tax where the higher earners are paying less than those earning lower amounts! Take someone earnig 100,000 and another 400,000, they pay the same amount yet they will more often than not go to private hospitals.

Nyongo Nyongo should drop his arrogance stance and listen.

People change... I used to read his articles in the dailies during the push for constitutional change. The man who wrote then and the one who sits at Afya house are totally different.

And thats why I keep asking, if I already have a medical Insurance that covers me and my dependants, why should i be forced to fund another medical insurance? I should be given an option of being a member of NHIF or not, I should not be forced to join the scheme!!!!!!!!!!

It means your insurance starts where NHIF ends. Am told you cannot be insured twice. The other option is for your insurance and NHIF to sit and agree on how to share your medical risk

you can be insured as many times as you want, just that you will pay x number of premium for the number of times you are insured.

if you go to hospital it will depend on the card you give out

The first stages of development are never easy... If my money is initially invested to ensure that the facilities that i will eventually need are up to date and offer good service then so be it..

There has to be a starting point!!
