The government has shelved plans to exit Uchumi Supermarkets and said it was in the retail chain to stay as it
seeks to recoup its
investments in the retail
chain through dividends.

On Sept 28th the results had better show PAT is above 400M. Otherwise this stock is overextended at 100%+ gains... Disappointing results will lead to very swift profit taking.

Ciano knows he needs investor confidence and can do anything including a bonus.

Cashed this one at 17 circa 70% last week. Wouldn't mind getting back in considering it was a on-demand sale. Let's see.

Haha. To be clear, I mean it was a forced sale. The capital was needed elsewhere, OTW, I'd have them still. Also had to shed some KK @15.4 circa 60%. I'm more interested in getting back into Uchumi at this juncture though.

Up 4.7% in 2 days, but i don't know what this stock means to me. I have shares from 2005, 2006, 2011 (debenture), 2012 - mixed grill prices. Not sure whether am up or down, am just holding on

''NOT SURE WHETHER AM UP OR DOWN''....whenever a trader/investor utters such comments,i begin to get worried...you wonder what their motives were while buying...if they dont know how much they have earned or lost.

I also dont get it. Yes there may be a dividend after a long time. but its probably not worth all the excitement.

I guess turnover will be above 16 billion so the market value should be around 5.5b i.e. 21 per share

The shares are in a firm that operates supermarkets. d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!
And on a serious note, did you read the shopping habits of Kenyans is shifting towards supermarkets?
