So they give a profit warning, and 1 week later they post losses.

Beats me this logic of profit warnings, thought all companies do monthly and YTD book-keeping.

Kwani what is a profit warning?

Conmanship. The 'Profit Warning' should have been given when they listed! See my posts above.

Centum has a 35% stake in the company.
This points to reduced earnings for Centum come half year.

Its actually 2-pronged, no dividends (no revenues) + lower valuations (unrealized loss)

Centum can always make a 'small' purchase at a higher price to boost the (fake) market value!

As for 'new' investors, stay far away from LKL until it drops below 10/- (at which point re-assess before buying)

The Kshs. 819 million listing on the Alternative Investment Market Segment (AIMS) saw Longhorn become the first publishing firm to go public in East Africa. A week later, the share price is up over 40% reversing the trend of recent IPO’s that have subsequently seen a sustained collapse in share price.

Now only cic will be left to join the plunge. These companies take us for granted, spectacular profits the year before listing followed by loses- britam n lkl. The next year.

All new listing should be treated with caution preferably avoided, esp if in a bull market

IPOs are floated during bullish markets. You cant get suckers in bear markets! But I remember Coop floated in Dec 2008. I thot that was suicidal, but the rebound was furious when it came.
