If you are using this as your reason in investing in OCH you are making a textbook example of a disaster.

Its like making an investment in Sasini after seeing what Sameer is investing in.

I think OCH is a fraud check this out from http://www.heri.co.ke/

Quote:
Heri was set up initially with the express purpose of investing in DT Dobie Kenya Limited. Over time, it opportunistically got involved in other investments.

Heri Limited owns a 100% of a company called Heri Holdings Limited which in turns owns 100% of College House and 55% of Kolobot Gardens Limited. Moreover, Heri Limited owns a 28.8% stake in Norfolk Towers Limited.

In may this year, the directors Heri Limited underwent a strategy session to formulate a way forward for the company and the conclusions drawn are what shaped our business idea and aspirations.

I have never seen a company so confused than this one....what does it really do...Now they want to venture into fire fighting business in full force...they have appointed CEO from Mather+platt with a plan of acquiring the company fully.

What are this guys known for? it becomes so difficult to know its moat.

Money put in OCH is not investment. Its pure speculation and a misinformed one.

Since the day this question was asked, OCH has gained 4.29% [from Sh3.50 to 3.65 yesterday] and SCOM 16% [from 3.45 to 4.00 yesterday]

This is a nonsensical company that should discontinue operations and sell the pieces of land they own on Enterprise Road, Nanyuki road and Gabs!. The distribute the proceeds to shareholders otherwise it's a classic case of how NOT TO run a business.

Strictly speaking Kareithi can't run a Private Equity Business, what does he know in private equity. Picture this, one year down the line the CEO of Kalahari Tiles will be giving Kareithi Dung which he will obliviously eat. At the AGM investors will ask about exit strategy of the Dunlop kenya business which is waste of time and strictly speaking is worth less than the land it sits on and you bet they he is unlikely to have a clue on what's happening. Neither will he have a clue on how to create value for the business.

OCH market cap = 160m. OCH NAV = 1.1B (mostly land it's sitting on). OCH prospects are pretty nil really. Solution is for the Directors and Shareholders to resolve to liquidate the company and share out the proceeds. They will definitely be better off.

PW Ndungu bolted from the board. I guess he had other more worthy things to attend to. AGM called for for 3rd Sept 2012 was cancelled by CMA because OCH had not followed some basic procedure on notices. Noww the new date is Monday 24th.

If you are a shareholder, show up! This time to make sure the Board does something right.

Damn, the AGM needs you. A source tells me there will be a candidate (fronted by non-matu & non-obura related shareholders) as a director to protect their stake.
