Of the professions i know, i think teaching has the least in terms of qualifications. Their pay should measure to that.
How about postponing exams for two months and the gov't stays put for two months,no pay to teachers?

I think they still deserve better pay. Of all the people in my life, my parents and teachers made the most impact when I was growing up.

With that said, nowadays most teachers are lazy. Im primo we did about 12subjects with no holiday or evening tuition, and now ths kids only do 5 with mandatory tuition. Most have side hustles during teaching hours. They should be held accountable.

Tell you what,it's not always about qualifications needed to get into a job. What I think matters more is the actual work done.
Teaching small kids at times goes beyond books & notes. One also deals with the social aspects of the student as well.So why should the government pay some of them 13K while a clerk moving files up & down some private company gets 30K?
Formally employed people often live their employers' dream & forget about their own.

Funny how the same people who instilled in us academic sense from childhood are looked upon in the society.

Mukiha, i like the fact that you follow up on your child. But the most impressive thing is the kid can speak kyuk. Good parenting!

Following up on your child thats a 100% but kindly explain how learning your mother tongue translates to good parenting?

Teaching a child his/her mother tongue is not that easy today. Very few parents have the patience to do it. The schools will teach the young one everything else but the mother tongue.

Only parents can ensure the kids learn this.

The 13k is it basic or gross? When unions are negotiating they only tell us about their basic pay and are mum about allowances!

I agree teachers pay need to be harmonized with other civil servants, but you honestly can't compare a clerk working in the private sector with a teacher in the public school system.

the 300% demand is outrageous, I hope its just a negotiation tactic.
