I believe the greater the investment the greater the potential return for shareholders provided the Return on Equity is maximised on each purchase of aircraft.

I however am slightly concerned by the recent announcement of KQ starting a budget airline and how this new venture will affect existing traffic flow.

Fly540 has been bought or rather has brought in some new investors who are planning on capitalizing in this segment. I think its a good move. The best strategy to use against your competitor is to make him completely irrelevant.

Retrenched staff of national carrier Kenya Airways have petitioned Parliament to nullify their sacking and
reinstate all the affected
workers unconditionally.
Through a petition tabled by Naivasha MP John Mututho, the over 500 employees that were laid off by the KQ management also asked the House to constitute an ad-hoc committee to investigate Mr Titus Naikuni, the airline's
chief executive officer.
The petition signed by 74
employees said Dr Naikuni should be investigated on issues to do with the outsourcing of various functions to external companies, hiring of expatriates to take over jobs traditionally held by Kenyans and “other unethical practices".

The employees claimed that the airline has irregularly outsourced functions to external companies where the CEO holds substantial
interests through proxies,
without due regard to the established competitive procurement procedures.
“The CEO is on his way out and has attended an
interview for position of CEO of Magadi Africa in South Africa which raises serious doubts whether he has the interest of the company at heart,” they claimed.
They wondered why they
were laid off when the
company in the last one year has increased pay for its top executives by over 24 percent compared to 10 per
cent for the unions.

One of my worst investments ever. The turning point was when the Rights Issue was done that decimated shareholder value. TN has zero shares thus a zero loss.
