Rank: Elder Joined: 2/7/2007 Posts: 11,935 Location: Nairobi		Just met this old man.Fellow has a packed MG 18 Morris (1969 model...most likely an MG B or MG GT).The car kicks good and is in fairly good condition.The original water cylinders for the suspension have been replace with LR 109 coils.The underside has been redone and reinforced.Only one small problem.The gearbox oil seals are broken and therefore the master piece doesn't hold oil for long....Question.Is it worth investing in especially when i consider spares?.The asking price is throwaway. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Anyway the car I think you are referring to is either an MG MGB or an MGC, the MG 18 stopped production in the 30's from what I recall. As much as its still not considered a true classic, its a great car and will sure turn heads when you take it for a spin on a nice sunday afternoon. Well spares are definitely an issue locally, but you can get any part from UK and there are custom spare part makers if worst comes to worst. Plus the cost of MG spares compared to other classics is cheap. Before you can be be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid.

Rank: Elder Joined: 2/7/2007 Posts: 11,935 Location: Nairobi		@Mwatha, Wow!!Thanks!!...That will really help.The outer shell needs a fresh paint coat as it is badly done but i realize there is no filler nor signs of rust.The belly has been re-done but it also requires proper sealing and painting.The rear lenses have been modified with a funny looking set and here,I'll want to restore to original.....There is some work to be done but i am encouraged by the engine.It would beat many of this Jap mikebes by far .I'll go for it,and re-build it pole pole to my satisfaction...The owner is asking for 80K and in my assessment,it's a throwaway price....Thanks once more.Below is a look-alike but it's ash grey! Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
