Between Toyota Corolla NZE and Nissan Sylphy G11 (2006/7+), which one is better in terms of handling, engine performance and reliability?

Forget about comfort, style or design. Asanteni!

Go for the Nissan. The NZE is quite overrated.

Yes Yes Nisaan but has anyone given you facts why they choose the Nissan. Whoever said the car infront is always a Toyota wasnt wrong in facts.A newly imported 2005 NZE will cost you 900k currently. A newly imported bluebird sylphy will cost u say 650k. If u were to need your money money after driving out of the showroom the nze wud fetch 870k while the nissan 550k as used cars now even if it was for a day. The Nissan has shaky suspension not as comfortable as the nze and an almost guarantee of replacing the engine or gearbox within 2 years regardless of how you drive and maintain. Wou onto you should any sensor fail which they will anyway prepare 20-30k to buy. The front suspension bushes and shocks were made from mud or match-sticks breakss very quickly. In the event of a collission where insurance doesnt come in say you rip off the gate at 2am prepare to sell your fridge and i phone and even getting the parts is lyk hell.
The NZE is a super car well rated across the world as lomg as u service it well and dont abuse it you will not go wrong. The initial price is 250k higher but i bet u will get value. If the 2 cars are used the same way for 2 years the nze will sell at 750k will the nissan 380000ksh. I u want to go for the nissan i reccomend the Tiida salloon especially id u import it yourself. For the Nze go for the assista package with power windows which u can get at 850k newly imported 2005 model.

@Premio - Nissan have upped their game since the last time you checked. The Nissan Sylphy KG-11 is a superb car in-terms of Comfort, fuel consumption, build quality, and value for money. A similar unit to this will set you back about 650k. [Am trying to paste the pics for this new Nissan...nimeshindwa!!]

@Premio that's not entirely true. Sylphy is better than Tiida. As much as you know, Toyotas as overpriced, but ideally Nissans are as economical and cheap to maintain.
We have been using a KBG Nissan Sylphy for 4years now, and it's still spackling. No engine or gearbox replacement as you claim.

So after the 2 yrs both cars will have depreciated by nearly the same amount: the NZE 150k and the Nissan 170K. I think the Nissan is a better financial deal then since you will have saved 250k in the purchase price and they will both lose the same amount in depreciation.

In my previous motoring life I have owned a toyota (AE100) and also a Nissan (B14) and the Toyota was more superior in terms of performance (EFI engine), handling, reliability, comfort (independent suspension) and also the design. I believe it must be the same for newer models. The toyota was also more expensive to buy.
