Depends on what you want to do with it. I prefer electric oven anytime but the cost of electricity is a killer. If you're baking like once a month then go for the electric oven.

BBI will solve it

You will find in the market a cooker with 3 gas burners of different sizes and 1 electric. This has advantage in that
1. In an abrupt finish of gas you will finish your cooking with the elec..
2. In times of stima blackout, gas will do
3. Shortage of gas as experienced in dec 2011

However
You must buy gas cylinder, pipe and the regurator(the thing that connect to the pipe). Cylinders are of different sizes and makes and so the cost.

The question was about the OVEN (whether gas or electric) and not the cooker. See how people fail exams by not understanding the question?

If you're learning to cook then go for the electric option, the elements (is that what they're called?) are on the sides which makes for easier cooking (something about the heat being better spread out), plus they usually have a grill feature (elements at the top as well).

If you're experienced, the gas will work just as well for you, maybe even better once you get used to it. And the gas is cheaper for frequent use.
Better to ask the question and look like a fool for a moment, than to remain in ignorance and be a fool forever.

These are 8-4-4 certificate holders.
They answer the question first then read the instructions at the end of the paper.
