A fellow got an industrial attachment with the Oil Refinery a few years ago.
They offered him 15k pm but said that he had to meet the cost of additional insurance premium needed because of engaging an untrained employee... the cost of the premium came to 50 for the three months. So effectively, he paid them sh1,666 every month!
At KEMRI/CDC-American Embassy in Kisumu the the Technical Interns(Biomed,Labaratory Technologists,BSc Biology,Chemistry,Zoology etc etc) have to pay I think Ksh. 15,000 for the priviledge of being trained and using the equipment and reagents.
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...
