he is flying there kesho. Me thinks govt is afraid of civil society n international community. Individuals in authority could land in court on charges of authorising the killing of peaceful protesters like Ali did.

Ali and Michuki were demonised for the Mungiki and PEV operations. I supported them coz when all sense escapes and all you have is murderous crowds a few bullets have to be used to bring sense

Dude, if you use bullets, then the cycle continues...You kill them and they retaliate and before you know it, we have a full-fledged religious war in our hands....That's not how you deal with this thing....Mungikis deserved to be killed because they were gangsters that nobody supported, but in this case, we would be fighting an ideology with a lot of backing, sometimes irrational, a religion that has some very bad elements....Through history, we all know how futile fighting a religion is, it never ends well....So, my point is, the Kenya government should not approach this issue like they did the Mungiki with guns ablaze, that would be the beginning of a Boko Haram movement in our backyard that will never end in our lifetime, only precious lives will be lost....

I will venture out and suggest a very unpopular idea on how to get this resolved....I think it's time to put the religious egos aside and have a very very candid dialogue....Al Shabab leaders and representatives from the Kenya government need to sit down and talk about a resolution and a peaceful way forward...The talks need to be civil, cordial, respectful and firm.....An eye for an eye has never been the answer...Look at how many years the US government has been fighting terrorists for....They still have a fight in their hands to date and thousands of lives have been needlessly lost in the process...Why? because the US has a superiority complex and the Muslim fundamentalists are out to prove a point, whatever that point may be....They will never end this war...It's Iraq today then in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban tomorrow, then they almost inevitably will invade Iran and a showdown with Pakistan is looming in the future....Millions of lives are being lost at every "war"......For what???? To satisfy their religious egos???? To prove whose religion is better???? It's absurd, it's sad, it's despicable and defies all logic....Sometimes it’s okay to just say yes so as to get rid of a bad situation….Taking a stance and not willing to compromise always gets ugly….If the Muslims want us out of Somalia, then let’s get out and mind our own business, but agree with them that they also need to respect us and leave us alone…We can co-exist on mutual respect if the egos are set aside….I would venture to say that the world needs to rid itself of religions but I know that would be a pipe dream....Pigs will fly before that ever happens so we’ll not go down that route…..But that would be blissful in my eyes...

Kenya is in a very precarious position right now...A couple of bad moves and we have a war with Islamist fundamentalists and as we all know, these fundamentalists have a lot of sympathisers and support from far and wide....We would essentially be in a war with Islam and some Islam countries might decide to help their brothers.....Not a good situation to be against.....Violence is for weak minded people, people who can't reason beyond their religious beliefs....Dialogue and reason will always be the peaceful way to resolve conflict....If we apply Michuki and Ali rules then we will be inviting a religious war with open hands.....Maybe it's time we reasoned with our heads instead of reasoning with our fists.....I might be going out on a limb here, but I would rather have a peaceful dialogue in a room than watch our people die over some BS that can be avoided.....

The role of the army is to secure our borders and fight our external enemies. The role of the police on the other hand is to sort our internal issues. Thats why there is a internal security ministry and a defense ministry.
