I think this is a good growth company to invest in considering its not owned by the Govt like our Kplc here. Will be waiting for their prospectus eagerly as i'm really interested

The gov't has a LOT of 'influence' in pricing. museveni gets a brainwave & umeme pays the price. If the price set is too low = losses.

wouldnt participate in this one, to much state interference in the running of this company

The only problem with that article is the title.
Otherwise when i look at the details, the more am convinced it might be a good investment. e.g.
1.The 14 years remaining in the concession with government - which can be extended.
2. Being a monopoly.
3. Expansion strategy.
4. Prepaid meters (efficiency in cashflows)
5. The company is already profitable.
