There is a very high turnover of staff in this firm. This year alone all the front office guys (the ones who place the orders) that i know have left the firm.

I have been with them from the days I used to walk around with share certificates I saw them expand now they are shrinking from giving up the investment banker licence for a broker one shrinking of the office space,then the staff turnover...i'm getting worried!!

Maybe its just good business practice to cut costs when business is low? But I don't know...maybe you call and ask them in a direct way..

I am not making a complaint. Nothing has happened to my account as yet.
I am able to monitor all the transactions on my CDSC account at the end of the end via http://live.mystocks.co.ke/portfolio/ and after 48hrs CDSC
If any un-sanctioned activity is observed i take action immediately. which is to lodge a complaint to CMA, CDSC, NSE and notify them of the action i am taking. So far they are very good guys and extremely fast when it comes to execution of orders.

Yes. Don't be surprised if they apply for an investment banking license 2 years down the road citing ''increased opportunities in the market''
Just like how the brokers fire people during downturns and then go on a hiring spree during upturns.

SPARKLY:>>Its the height of folly to assume that the ever expanding stock brokerage/investment banker is the right one to host your CDS account.Remember Discount Securities??They became too big and failed from their inefficiencies.At Dyer and Blair,which is a bigger firm,they have a tendency of loosing funds through fraudulent employees.And if you don't trade your account within three months,they freeze the account.

No cause for worry I guess. Unless the management has changed. I have been with them for many years and their service is superb despite numerous staff changes.

But am sad about Joan Sayo... she is just the kind of employee many companies lack; quick, on the ball, professional, humble and very dedicated to the customer - a rarity nowadays. If she's gone, I will miss her greatly.

@bgl,

Do you know where to? I might just follow her if service turns to dis-service.

Departure of both Joan and Robert is good for them. Change is HR is not necessarily bad for a company and therefore not a reason to move your account. I have been with FD for many years and I am not worried.
Knock hard and it will be opened. Ask and you will be answered. Seek and you shall find.

Na hii nayo... si it's, somehow, tantamount to armtwisting a client of their's into carrying out a transaction regardless of whether it's profitable or otherwise just to avoid the inconvenience of this requirement??? Clearly Grahamites type of investors r not their target clients.
