I have just witnessed a lady being robbed by a thug in a motobike in westlands!!! In broad daylight [10:00am!]

The thugs rides very close to the lady, snatches her bag and rides off!!! I couldn't help because I was parking and a fellow was blocking me. Most people [who responded very quickly I must add] were confused because after the lady screamed "mwizi" they were looking for a "mwizi" on foot. By the time she was explaining the "mwizi" is on a motorbike, people could see him but he was some distance away. And given the traffic, only someone in a motorbike could give a chase and there was none.

What's more disturbing is that a guard told me that it was not an isolated case. He has seen quite a number of people being robbed by thugs in motorbikes and apparently even the cops know. They are either two guys in one motorbike, guys in two motorbikes but in today's incident, it was a lone thug! He [The guard] told me the incidents he has seen, take place from around 7:00pm. Today was the first time he saw it happen during the day!

Word of advice, don't put [carry] your handbag, laptop etc. on the side next to the road. Carry them on the other side [to make them harder to snatch] and treat every motorbike rider as a suspect!

Thugs are getting savvy everyday,an element of surprise..i hope people take it serious.i never trust motorbike riders.even in town i think they should be banned from driving in the CBD, they drive reckless and have little experience.
Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it

A fellow in a motorbike and I'm in a car? A small nudge and he would be in a trench/side walk on his face before he could say GFF! And then the Kenyan justice system - the streetwise one - could have taken effect immediately!

I thought snatching of wigs ended in the '80s. Don't women shonelea them nowadays? In the '80s they just used to shuka matuta or lines then wear the wig like a hat! They still do that?

Thugs on motorbike is just a great idea on the part of the thugs. Easy escape routes, brilliant. I have always wondered why they have nver adopted this method, and finally it is here!
