Afren Plc (AFR), a U.K.-based oil and gas company focused on Nigeria and Iraq, more than doubled its East African resource estimate to 5.8 billion barrels of oil equivalent after new analysis and seismic examinations

In Kenya’s Blocks L17 and L18, the resources estimate was raised to 1.1 billion barrels from 94 million barrels, while the company is carrying out “3D seismic offshore” exploration works, Chief Executive Officer Osman Shahenshah said.

Argh bado imekataa, will give you a report in a couple of days nikiifungua. Ulinunua Camac, coz iko next to this L8 and also close to L17, so hizo Apache and Afren zikiwa na good news, it should trickle down to Camac pia.

@murchr, that's interesting because when they started they said they would make no announcements till drilling was complete so everyone was expecting news in october/november, plus the halt in share trading

Australian company Pancontinental Oil & Gas said today an announcement is expected imminently on the large Mbawa deep-water exploration well in Kenya.
Pancontinental owns 15% of Block L8 in Kenya, and its joint venture partners are operator Apache (50%), Origin Energy (20%) and Tullow Oil (15%).

The Australian company today requested a halt in trading of its shares until 10 September pending the Mbawa announcement.

Seems this week we will see some major news out of the mbawa drilling. The million dollar question is ÏS IT GOOD OR BAD NEWS?"

Crossing my fingers. But why is it only Pan-continental that has suspended share trade, why not tullow or apache?
