Now let me repeat this incase I am misquoted.

There is only one method of withdrawing your funds from PayPal that is formal and legitimate.

You withdraw your funds from PayPal in Kenya through a US Bank.

Now if you read my previous posts I did say there are third party providers.

That is what Nation should be saying. That way anyone who wishes to do ecommerce using paypal may know what they are getting themselves into.

If you read the history of PayPal and other payment processors, it has ended in pain for many people who wanted to use the method not approved by PayPal.

Stormpay, Payza, 2checkout,Etropay, Etrade,Plimus, Liberty Reserve etc the history is rampant with third party providers who ended up in a a lot of pain for their clients.

PayPal terms are very clear about 3rd Party providers. They don't accept them unless they say so expressely.

Case in point 2Checkout.

Whois 3GDirectPay

Now this company that you are saying is Israeli somehow has a website that is plainly Kenyan in terms of address etc.

Customer Care Center
+254 708 480275
+254 20 3673048

That is not an Israeli address unless I'm wrong.

So this is what may be going on. Please tell me I'm wrong. Because I would love to be wrong/

A kenyan goes to israel and sets up a company. They then get a paypal account from israel. Which they then proceed to setup this Paypal payments to Kenya thing.

The domain was bought in 2010 and to make things worse, they've hidden their whois status. Their twitter for an Israeli company sure has more data about Kenya than Israel. Started in 2011. Their facebook too.

So is this company Kenyan or Israeli?

Why would a corporate hide its whois data? Is there a payment processor in the whole world that hides its whois data? How come no one I know in the whole internet marketing world has ever heard of this company?

Read their terms and conditions

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS PRIOR TO USING www.3Gdirectpay.com .
By using www.3Gdirectpay.com , the user agrees to the following terms and conditions:

www.3Gdirectpay.com is operated by 3G Direct Pay LTD. The site offers a variety of tourism services and products including flights, organized trips and package deals ("The Services").

So are they a payment processor or a tour firm?

But Heck, its your money.

If you are doing business online, don't mess around with PayPal terms and conditions. They strike often and hard.

I want you to consider this scenario.

What happens if those guys in Kamiti who deal with mpesa find this out.

I go to Nation Hela and pay through Paypal. The money is transferred to the card and I remove through Mpesa. The guy who sent the money then goes to Paypal and issues a chargeback, saying that it wasn't an authorized transaction. Since there was no service or product offered, Paypal sides with the client "conman" and Nation is out even the money it sent through mpesa. 10 cases of this happening and soon paypal shuts down this account.

You can listen or you can go the road which thousands of people have gone through online all over the world with a lot of pain.

You have a choice, go the legit way or start taking shortcuts with a company who's identity is being hidden in a process that PayPal expressely frowns upon.

There is no difference between what is happening here and the other payment processor that uses 2checkout. Just that the names here are supposed to be corporates who should know better.

And murchr, this is not new or is technology. these things have been around for a very long time. Heck if you want to start your own payment processor, just google and you can get a software for less than $100. If you wish to issue your own branded debit card, just google and you can get one for less than $100.

But if you want to mess with Paypal, please use other people's money not mine.

I'm sorry i stepped on some toes.

Alma, this is how these other operator work..and they are many not just 3G. You enter to an agreement where they receive money on your behalf...so in this case, paypal does not know you. Once they withdraw the money, they pay you minus a certain charge for the service. So, the risk here is not that your account will be deactivated or anything by paypal. The risk is either the deactivation of 3G account by paypal or failure by 3G to pay you for money received by them on your behalf. Now with the prons and cons of doing this, many especially in the travel industry would rather take the risk...and quite a number are using the service...there is risk in every business.

But paypal has not been fair to Kenyans at all. How come Kenyans are not allowed by paypal to withdraw to their VISA cards while you can do that in several african countries? Some of these countries are Algeria, Botswana, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique and Seychelles. What have these countries done right that we cannot do? Or what criteria does paypal use?...or may be its he corruption index?

Tassia please don't blame paypal for anything. I know they're in talks with a few banks to take care of the Kenyan market.

The problem is the merchants and these corporates who believe you can do shoddy work and get away with it online.

So I'm going to help you a bit here to get your money from PayPal the legit way.

1. Method 1: If you are a business, all you have to do is apply for a merchant account with companies such as authorize pay. You don't even need paypal for that and they are very fair. You will get your funds in your bank on demand. It's cheaper than I&M bank.

Withdrawing Funds from PayPal:

1. Setup your website
2. Add 2checkout as your processor (its expensive I know)
3. Apply for a Payoneer Card using 2checkout
4. Apply for a US account from Payoneer.
5. Link your US account to your Paypal account and withdraw your funds when and how you need them.

Now you can legitimately withdraw your funds from Paypal forever and cheaply too without risk to your business.

As for Paypal only targeting this company, please google the history of stormpay vs Paypal. You will find that you may not be as safe as you think. It was bloodbath that still sends shivers all over the internet.

So until one of the banks here gets serious without taking shortcuts or until our banking standards are considered to be secure enough, that's all we can do. And it is good enough.

But trying to play games with that company is not a very wise move for any business out there.

There's one other way to withdraw from Paypal, though not directly as @alma has stated.

Dash2Do.com
- Sign up and create an account with them.
- Top up your dash2do account via Paypal, they transact in USD.
- Cash out using their Cash Delivery service, upto $300 per withdrawal. All you have to do is make a booking to have the equivalent KESH delivered directly to you or whoever you want it delivered to.

Currently, they're available just here in Nairobi. But since you're using Paypal, deposits can be made from anywhere.

So for $300, this is how the screen-shot on my account reads;-

Enter Amount To Send In USD $300
This is approximately equivalent to KES 23940.00
Transaction Fee USD $ 25.00
Delivery Fee USD $ 10.00
Total To Be Debited USD $ 335.00
Généralement, les gens qui savant peu parlent becoup, et les gens qui savant beaucoup parlent peu.

Well, there you have it folks

- You can get your paypal through nationhela.

- Nationhela uses 3G Pay

- A question about the legitimacy of 3G Pay has been raised. Regarding this, it is possible for third parties to formally receive paypal payments on behalf of their clients, such as it is with 2CheckOut.com. If 3G Pay is legitimate, then good.

- When paypal begins to work directly with local banks - That will be the time when nationhela, western union, money gram ect... will have their markets disrupted.
They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

I am seeing a lot of lies being thrown around in this post and guys believing them. There are three legitimate ways for withdrawing money from PayPal in Kenya.

1. ePay-Kenya
2. Payoneer US Payment Service
3. NationHela

Click here for more information on this

Don't worry about your PayPal account, it will stay fine. And it is true that ePay and NHela use third party gateways.
