Haiya ni nini alma...i have an account with paypal and i check off to my acc in the US which i opened when i was in sch. Now normally when i sell staff on ebay the money goes to paypal then i transfer it to my acct from which i can wire to my kenyan account. When i came back to ke...i was advised that I&M bank usually opens international accounts i went there and they confirmed it...when i asked them if i can withdraw paypal cash they said yes but i dint bother to change my paypal details since i had an arrangement with my bank earlier. (This is too much info) So try I&M they confirmed that they offer the service you could get help.

Lemmie get this clear.
You are in US,You withdraw from paypal into your US account. You then wire that into the kenyan account. (lets say I&M.)
This happens because Paypal has no biz with your kenyan account.
It's strictly PP and US acc.

Fastfoward Kenya.
You approach I&M and ask if you can withdraw from paypal on this end?
Why would you do that if you are well aware that money can only move from PP into a US account?

If that is were the case, wouldn't it have been easier to withdraw from PP direct into the kenyan account while in US thereby skipping the US account and wiring altogether?

Why bother about changing PP details for a local bank's sake, which has no biz with PP.

could be wrong but I dont get you.

You leave it as it is do it the way you did.
PP>US acct>>Wire into Kenyan acc.

When i registered with paypal i was in US but i had to move and was thinking since I&M claims to have an international acc (as in you can use it anywhere in the world) maybe they would also get my paypal cash in the acc...but then i figured iakuwa kazi mingi changing details since i still have access to my account there. But they said they offer the service and anyway if i can use my ac anywhere why not receive paypal?

When I opened a PP account here,I thought I needed my bank's help to operate it.I approached my local bank and was shocked to find out they knew nothing about PP!
They misled me soo much and made me fill forms for online banking instead.
Some crazy manager was talking about unlocking my card for online banking and I thought something was a miss.
I thought being an International bank they would help move cash from paypal into my account but alas, that is not what PP says.

I do not need my local bank to do ANYTHING! cz they have no biz with PP.All I needed was the card to register.Transaction and withdrawal is my headache.
So when you keep mentioning a bank I just dont get it cz all that matters is the Card.

I had to go back understand PP well before explaining to bank staff what PAYPAL was all about.

In the US...to curb money laundering one has to pitisha money on a bank account. Either saving or checking. This bank will give u a visa or mastercard. So once your paid in paypal...to get that money out u can choose to transfer it to your account. I really dont understand why paypal doesnt accept kenyan visa of mastercard...

Thanks Alma, Essyk and Murchur for the good discussion. Murchur, I had no idea about this I&M facility. Heading there tomorrow morning to get the details. I will thank you a million if it is true.

From my understanding and to try to bring more clarity on this issue......Nation are saying the truth but are doing a lot of injustice for not bringing in more clarity.

1. When Nation says that you can withdraw from paypal to your Hela card, I guess this only applies to Kenyans living in those countries where it is possible to withdraw money to a card (as per paypal terms). Of course Kenya is excluded here because in any case, the service is targeted to People living outside Kenya. But the Nation is not telling us that it is still not possible to do this if you are in any other country in the world where paypal does not allow you to do this. Is Nation assuming that all Kenyans in the diaspora live only in countries where one is allowed to withdraw to their cards by paypal?

2. For Kenyans living in Kenya and interested in e-commerce, the only way you can withdraw from your paypal is to a USA bank account. Searching from the internet, there are so many agents who promise to help people to open a USA bank account even if you are not a US resident. But you never know if you will deal with the right people. If I&M bank can help one to do that, then bingo, we have a Kenya solution to this headache.

The person(murchr) recommending I&M hata hajajaribu. He uses his US account.Doesn't that ring a bell? Just try though.

Please dont fall for the temptation you will get ripped off by Nigerians and Jamaicans. They even pay people to write reviews on their web pages.

Thanks Murchr for this. I have always been hesitant to try this. But one more clarification, you mean I&M will help me to open a USA bank account? I do not seem to find that information on their website.

I & M bank have POA PAY as their client.
Its a money transfer service just like PAYPAL
http://www.imbank.com/KE...r.asp?cat=Our%20Clients

From what I see it's a local version of Paypal cz all u need is an email address and pw to send money.

https://www.poapay.com/i...cfm?fuseaction=about_us

Quote:
Kenya-based PoaPay.com is a licensed trademark of DTP L.L.C., a Birmingham, AL company dedicated to providing a secure, quick, cost-effective and easy way to remit money abroad.

You can charge the amount you would like to send to your credit or debit card or deduct the money directly from your bank account.

I have a feeling that is what the I & M lady was referring to.

Let us not play around with people's lives and money here.

You cannot withdraw from paypal with any sort of card, including the hell card if you are from Kenya.

That is not being said by Nation and it took murchr well over 3 pages of posts to accept.

I&M Bank or any other bank in Kenya cannot help you get money from you Paypal. Infact, I know they have no idea what Paypal is.

If you try to open a US bank account when in Kenya, the chances of being conned are 98%. Please understand that banking rules changed after 9/11. It is not as easy as you may think. My advice is forget about it.

PayPal is not KCB, I&M or Nation

This is very important to understand. Paypal operates with its own crazy rules. It is a payment processor in the US, a bank in Europe and its own entity in China.

So unless, I see PayPal sitting in the same table as Nation and saying they are allowing it, then Nation is peddling a half truth and someone probably got the card with the mistaken notion that it will work.

Shame on them.

If they can start a business with such a blatant attempt at misleading, with a half truth, what else are they not saying?

Lastly and Most Important

Be careful what someone markets online especially if you are planning on keeping your Paypal account.

Do not market it as a payment processor. For example, withdraw money from PayPal to another Payment processor eg the one that was being peddled here as being able to withdraw funds to Kenya.

It is against PayPal terms and conditions to move money from one payment processor to another. So whoever is marketing such should be very careful how they do it. Hela should not sound like a payment processor and I mean sound. Go online and type the words Paypal locked my account, paypal sucks , you will get to know what type of company you are dealing with.

Murchr, for example is running the danger of his account being locked when he opens his US account in Kenya. If you don't believe me Murchr, just be patient, you will learn. that is if you have such an account as your statements reek of someone who doesn't know what Paypal is.

Otherwise, one day, you will wake up and find PayPal having locked your account for a long long time.

If you are planning to use PayPal in your business, learn to be honest and straight. Withdraw your money using a US bank which Payoneer can help you with.

That is the only true and honest solution for Paypal for Kenyans.
Jose: If I make it through this thug life, I'll see you one day. The Lord is the only way to stop the hurt.

I managed to withdraw (made a payment)from Paypal using Nationhela via 3GDIRECTPAY.COM.

3gDirectpay redirected me to paypal where I "made a payment" to them and my money was deposited in my nationhela account.

I tested with 5 dollars which the bank, DTB, sold me at 81.06 = KSH 408.

3GDIRECTPAY, an Israeli company, is offering a service just like any other online service provider. One way they receive payment is via Paypal.

For me it worked and I will be using it. Nowhere has PayPal indicated in their terms of service that one should not use service providers like 3G.

I've learnt they have an API which integrates Mpesa and Airtel money besides other payment systems.

Next step - applying to deal directly with them. Sorry Nationhela.com. I didn't mean to leave you so early in our relationship but I'll keep your card.

3GDirectpay is not an underground service provider.
I'm happy I can now collect payment via MPESA and be charged reasonably, unlike some providers, whom I won't name who have been charging very high commissions for transactions via their APIs.
