An asian dude in westy is selling a 31,000km peugeot 206 at 400k. should I go for it or go for a Toy which I'm sure will be older at the same price!

31000km? 2002 model? Doubtful. How much more does it cost to import? 2002 is quite old. An old car might cost much more in the long run.

what do you mean by saying that an old car might cost you much more in the long run?Do you think you can compare the old benz with any of these "tins" you are talking about?Old is gold. These "tins" will kill you even before you enjoy driving them .They are not safe as a matter of fact.Common with thiefs and the wear and tear is like deeping a tissue inside water

Nakujua,
what Japanese flaunt as new advanced technology was in the German monsters gazillion years ago. Find out when mercs introduced airbags in their cars and tell me when you first heard of airbags in a Toyota

Wikipedia

If you read the small piece of history above, you will realize that the airbag technology has been a gradual one and it was introduced in cars across the car manufactures region roughly in the same period.

Technology in cars is mostly shared, and once a company comes up with a new one, the others follow suit.

don't be blinded by the German technology too much.

My point is, a newer car will have better safety features and will be more efficient than an old car. The same applies to mercs - a 2012 colora is way more advanced than a 1980 benz.

Here we go again.... @dydy was simply asking for an opinion about The Peugeot 206. Now the thread has become about Old Mercs and Proboxes...SMH.
