I'm doing a water project in upcountry, drawing water from a nearby river. Any idea where I can buy below items in Nairobi at a good price?

1. None return valves
2. Elbow joints
3. Gate valves
4. T-joints
5. Plastic pipes
6. Horse pipes rolls

Doshi.

They are on msa road, and you will get good prices.

They manufacture pipes, so its cheaper than most shops around.

How are you pumping the water?

Have you heard of Hydram Pumps?

They don't need any power supply and are easy to maintain.

@AlphaDoti, it seems a nice project and way cheaper for common mwanainchi, please send us the pics of the project and roughly the overall costs when complete, would love to copy paste it back in my village. All the best....

@murchr the above pic is a sketch from the net. But it's a similar idea.

I got quotation from Doshi & Co (Hardware) Ltd. Nairobi. Prices for some items shocked me. Based on my quantities, total cost is coming to tune of sk200K+ Think

None return valve 3" @7,850
Gate valve 3" @7,880
Gate valve 0.5" @510
T-joint 3" @750
T-joint 0.5" @30
Pipe 3" @1,630
Pipe 0.5" @220
Horse pipe 0.5" roll @1,690
Elbow joint 3" @550
Elbow joint 0.5" @30

Waa....Have you bought them? Just look for a good plumber with experience then go shopping with him, your cost might come down drastically.
