"There is no way such useless,old fashioned & backward helicopters can fly from Kampala To Mogadishu let alone fight. My advice to you is you should have had them fly in intervals e.g Fly it from kampala to Mbale, then rest them for some three days, then from Mbale to Kisumu, another rest of 3 days, From Kisumu to Nairobi another 3 days, and so on until they would arrive in Mogadishu. Why didn't you send the Sukhoi those 'Fifth Generation' Stealth Bombers instead? Those helicopters are not befitting for an elite, modern, well paid & professional army headed by a 'SABALWANYI'Laughing out loudly

And to think they were part of 6 just very recently refurbished Mi-24 Hind attack choppers...someone must have convinced them its possible to refurbish junks and eaten the cash!
BTW, the Sukhoi-30MK2 are actually 4th - and not 5th-Generation fighters - they would not be suited for war with rag-tag Alshabaab as the warbirds are too advanced for that. I always think they were meant for Kenya, as much as they say its other threats (eg Nile water threat from Misri). If thy cant fly old choppers like the Hind, surely can they fly a Su-30MK2?
Not to worry, our choppers will support them.
But we need 4th gen fighters badly, hizi F-5E/M ('zinazoendeshwa angani na wakenya wenzetu' as they say during flypasts on national occasions) are now too old.

@Intelligentsia,

I must say you are very informed on this......I thought Kenya acquired 8 new F-15 strike eagle fighters sometimes early this year??...If true,how would you compare them with the Sukhois?

They are lucky this happened before they reached sabbab teritory. Otherwise it would have been a field day for them - terorrists!

'' @dailynation: #UGANDA MILITARY says it has found its 3 missing helicopters which crash-landed in Mt Kenya and Garissa areas. Says all 28 crew rescued "
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
