am doing my research but being not too informed about stocks i ask for advise

for long term purchases (5 to 10 years) which shares could give me over 50% average growth per year in my wealth

as an example, i had bought CIC shares for sh 290,000 4 years ago and recently sold them for sh 1,040,000 thus making about 65% average return over the 4 years

which shares could i re-invest this money and make at-least 50% return on average over the next 5 years

informed wazuans, i appreciate your sharing

None of the stocks stated above have posted the gains that @heri is looking for over the past 5 years. A look at the numbers:

KCB:
Price on 15.08.2008 - KES 29.00
Price on 10.08.2012 - KES 24.50
Loss over the 5 years - 15.5%

Stanchart:
Price on 15.08.2008 - KES 189.00
Price on 10.08.2012 - KES 198.50
Profit over the 5 years - 4.8%

EABL:
Price on 15.08.2008 - KES 185.00
Price on 10.08.2012 - KES 232.00
Profit over the 5 years - 25.4%

Coop
EABL:
Price on 22.12.2008* - KES 10.45 (*listing date)
Price on 10.08.2012 - KES 11.10
Profit over the c5 years - 6.2%

It would be best if wazuans can put forward the 'stocks worth longterm holding' with supporting figures and reason.

@Mwekezaji believes in the old adage that making money from the market is buying low and selling high. If I buy a stock and it hits my high point in T + 3 days, I sell and move on to another. That’s my art of making money.

@Mwekezaji, but Stanbic UG has. What about Bralirwa, what are the projections?

What is the past performance of these two counters in our neighbors’ exchanges? And like @King_G asked, how easy is it for us to do trade in this market? I recently received a dividend payment from bank of kigali and a very unfavorable exchange rate was applied by my broker, how are you mitigating such forex risks? We long to hear the experience of traders in these neighbours' stocks markets.
