@VVS I remember reading something to that effect, in an online newspaper i dont have the link but i read it.
Well, they have an incentive. At 15/-, that is 3x the current price. It will make the Somens very rich!

What are the prospects for this stock in view of competition from other telecom players?

For me, I think the prospects remain very high, the market is still big enough for all the players and competition is there to bring efficiencies into the field. AK still has room for growth, they have learnt hard lessons and hopefully they wont repeat the mistakes they made.

Lots of competition but the market is growing very fast. Lots of investment needed as well.

Do you know anyone who leases fiber or has an account with Access Kenya?

I asked some friends who have SMEs:

- Zuku/Wananchi
- Safaricom modems [now switching to Orange because unlimited] given to key employees
- Africaonline [I did not know it is still around or is he confused?]

No-one I know had AK. Of course, my sample was limited plus all were SMEs (well, more small than medium!)

I use Safaricom but I might shift to Orange's unlimited package.

We lease fibre from Access in Nairobi and Mombasa. Our company has about 450 employees.

When did they say that? Link?

It was Chris Senanu, their MD who said that the company was valued at KES 13 and they could not sell below that. That was last year i think on Business Daily and Capital FM.

AK traded 3,602,000 shares today. That's 1.73% of the entire share float of 208,084,296. That's a big bet on AK. Who's the buyer?

This stock has surely bottomed. They are still laying fibre around the country, esp Mombasa leafy suburns. Trading at PB 0.9, not cheapest stock but not bad for a Tech. 4.50 has defended very well. The downside risks are minimal.

Yep, support is coming in at this levels and on heavy volumes. Can't remember where I read, the MD of AK expects double digit profit growth this year. I still wonder why Scom is willing to rollout new fibre ring instead of acquiring an existing competitor like AK and building on what is already working.

Today AK traded large volume of 3.11M which is 1.49% of the total float of 208,084,296. Perhaps some silent acquisition...

Also noticed sizable volume on Centum and Mumias... Watch this too.
