Ethiopian Airlines will
become the first African
carrier to use Boeing 787
Dreamliner set to be
delivered next week.
The aeroplane gives the
airline a competitive edge over its African peers like Kenya Airways (KQ) in attracting passengers seeking
new experiences while saving on fuel costs.
KQ, Ethiopian Airlines’ main competitor in Africa together with South African Airways, expects its first Dreamliner in
October next year.

Hmmm... Labours wars in KQ and KK... Interesting tape this - job losses whether a buyout or cost cutting. Capitalism 101...

A Kenyan court has temporarily stopped national carrier Kenya Airways from retrenching its employees until a suit brought by the workers union challenging the layoffs is heard and determined.

The additional shares + potential losses from hedges + losses from the retrenchment = low EPS & much higher PER.

Well done to the the Chairman (Mwaniki), CEO (Naikuni) CFO (Mbugua) for the stellar performance!

The day the exec of KQ pull off such a stunt, then and only then can the KQ green light go on...

What's the news here? This place looks like it wants to start landing on smaller airstrips

What I meant is the execs need to buy the stock to boost some confidence as well as backing it up with sound business management strategies that will reflect on the fiscal results.

Since June, jet fuel spot price is up 24%. From April fuel prices plunged more than 20% only for the sharp rebound towards end of Juneto date to ruin the party. If this trend maintains, half yr results will only show a slight dip on fuel costs. Only significant increase in passenger & cargo numbers will boost revenues above H1 2011 results.
Disappointing figures will likely push the stock sub 12/-

Back in June, BD stated Citi rated KQ stock @18/-
(see 1st page, 2nd paragraph).

www.businessdailyafrica..../1/-/ygu1n1/-/index.html

Today, BD states that KQ has been given a one year TP of 18/- by one and only JP Morgue. I shiver with chills...
(see last page, last paragraph).
