Good morning, everyone.

If you're ever tempted by the allure of airline stocks, you may be interested in this brief analysis of KQ's earnings history.

Should You Buy Airline Stocks?

Would be interested in hearing your feedback. Do you have a strategy for profitably trading KQ?

Cheers,
Ryan

@Ryan Spot on! the conclusion. Yet i must admit the lure of the flashy jets is too much. I got myself some.

I love those BA 380's at OR, still they posted losses and also want to cut jobs . . .

If Governments kept out of this industry perhaps it would be more profitable.

Many governments run white elephants of airlines just for bragging rights and national pride. Profit is often not the primary motive. The airlines then undercut fares until they go bust.

Then there are the rich nations that will heavily subsidize their airlines with oil or mineral money.

Gosh! Just went through the article - as brilliant as KQ is depressing.

Quote:
Since 1995, Kenya’s GDP has nearly quintupled. So it would be reasonable to expect KQ’s profits to have soared along with it, right?

If you look closely, you’ll see that KQ actually earned less in 2012 than it did in 1995! And this wasn’t a fluke. It outperformed its 1995 earnings in only six of the past 17 years.

Company in a bad industry at such an attractive price!
