Mobile phones/satellites phones were with us as early as 1991 and i remember WSR and CJ used to flash theirs around proudly..... an article in the Standard back then quoted Jirongo's phone at 250K.

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.

sometimes you don't need to pray with closed eyes cos what you are praying for could be right before you.I prayed for a wife and there she was looking at me.
you could be in the same position as me then.I say pray but open your eyes too.
have had some ups and downs but so far so good

You and your wife had mobile phones in the year 2000!!!
d'oh!

number means contacts. we shared office tel numbers. that time I was in my second job after a shortlived first job in 1999.she was on her first job after obtaining her first college papers mid that year.

I bought my first nokia 3310 in 2002 .safcom line was ksh 850-1000.
I'm still keeping the receipts. I was carjacked and robbed this phone in 2004.

Actually for the most part of 2002 a line was still going for 2,500/=. Some dealers started selling the lines at a loss to capture more customers. The loss they made was recouped from the initial commission from Safcom and a share of future earnings from the line. You must have bought from one such dealer.

And by the way the could not let you leave with the line just like that. The insisted on 'installing/activating' it because their commission only became payable once the line is activated!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Quite hilarious.
Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.
