My fellow Wazuans,

My academic background is partly in psychology and having read the story in today's Sunday Nation about Ruth Matete and her dad, I feel uneasy. From a therapist's perspective, it is a classic case of what in psychology is known as emotional incest.

I would like to know what other Wazuans think. Regards.

Last week he was 43 years old,now he is 45!
I would rather he remains unmarried since he will most likely marry a 26 year old and this will psychologixally impact his loving daughter.

Haba!!

If what I read is emotional incest I wholly welcome it. How many daughters wish to have Fathers so close to them.
We are so used to a father who walks in with newspaper folded, hard stressed look,no talking, a question or two and that's it.
What can I say but Bravo to Matete's dad.

And how will his getting married psychologically affect his 26 year old daughter
Shes moved out of the house already and hoping to settle. The Father can marry anyone he wants.

And what is psychological incest??....all i read here is the story of a dad who gave up married life for her daughter.A truly selfishless dad if you ask me.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

@Impunity. Hesabu ndogo ndogo. 22+26=48. Hii 45 yako inatyoka wapi. I guess the 43 was also a figment of your imagination

I think this is okay.
You don't know how fathers get attached to their daughters. Besides, this guy has lost two women already: dead mother of daughter and runaway second wife. He's a strong man emotionally.
