@dsgnplus,correction.. it does not always apply that machine cut are soft/porrous as such. while some will disintegrate if rained on others are tougher than even mannully cut. it depends on quarry and type of rock at a particular point and depth. thus the need for one to inspect before buying.

tell us what you need the stones for.... us techies more than that to form a decision...

load bearing or non load bearing au ama mawe ya kupika... jikoni...

we carried out some lab tests on several stones.... several varieties of machine cut were coming in at 9 N/mm2 that is techie language for you are better of with matope... in truth and as per the same laboratory tests stronger... lower impact to the environment...

the hydrafoam machine in the advert above makes an even better deal.... but again if you only needed three stones... for the kitchen... hydrafoam is not an option.... same case for only a residential unit....

Unajenga wapi... eastlands... kimbia Njiru....

thika road... ndarugo

a posh house... mix the colours throw a couple of yellow ones from rongai... but judging from your tone... you don't want to pay Consultants... you would have asked them that question... or you like working with those ones straight out of college... so your house is going to be non-functional anyway...

@fantony,you are right about the consultant bit. My old man only needed an architect to draw plans for approval. After that..... I intend to put up two bedroom low cost houses for rental on kangundo road. ... Just flat on the ground. No storeys.

that is the name of the person who did your drawings... architects do more than that...
i.e. provide detail designs indicating the material... advise on the budget... supervise the design in implementation...

what you got is a scheme design... a couple of lines only to get you through council...

the problem with people like you is you are so predictable next time your post will be '...help my stones are getting stolen... can somebody advise me the name of a security company in eastlands...'

i don't know what you do for a living but say you are an accountant and you heard a layman indicate the way they are going to audit their own accounts.... or something else equally mundane...

there must be a reason those guys... architects... are locked up in college for 6 years... i am not even one of them but i work closely....

Its annoying how building consultants are falling over each other trying to get PJ's through this forum...............................Think of the other thread on 'Architectural services' where guys were advertising themselves even when the person who posted it was not responding.
