I just started on dairy farming on a small scale and am looking for both Brown Swiss and Fleckvieh / Simmental Heifers (or first calvers). Will appreciate any information on where I can get these two breeds locally (Kenya). Thanking you in advance.

Notice: I know there was a thread sometime back on "daily" farming, so do not refer me to it because it won't assist in this case.
When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

I saw adverts several times last month in the Nation newspaper classified section for Dairy Cows/ goats. There was no mention of the breeds they have though.

@all,..after long 'soul searching' I have decided to do dairy farming not as a hobby but as a business, I have a 5 Acre where I started by growing fodder (Nappier & some regumes). Am about to purchase heifers, any advice on best deals in terms of best breeds.
Am also looking for good advice on making silage, any advice
....He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..
