Allows cars destined for Kenya to be stored for a period of 10 days and those in transit for 21 days in the terminal without any storages charges.

@Premio,I think you were not robbed of any money, most of the CFS, Im meant to understand give 4 or 5 days free. I recently self-imported my ride and for exactly 26 days I paid no extra coin at KENCONT CFS though mine was 'risky' arrangement.

MY experience:I bought a vehicle when on high seas,ie Did a T/T to AUTOCRAFTJAPAN (ACJ) and collected the unit from the local representative at Mombasa.Since by the time i was buying the vehicle was already loaded in the ship,the all documentation were in ACJ country representative name , save for the payment invoice. Though risky it was a blessing that the unit came with their name, otherwise i would have paid hefty storage fine

come baby come!!! with 15K Vat inclusive agency fee and i will sort you out.All other fees are accounted for with receipts.

@254 had i known that several cfs offers waivers on storage i would have saved 22k.The total port charges were 44000ksh instead of the indurstry average of 19k.

Eh? Did you say average is 19k? I have a car arrive at the port tomorrow and my agent gave me an estimate of 30k... His fee is 8k+VAT...

what i mean is actual port handling charges like wharfarge and the others no agent fee no storage charges the likes of vitz should be around 16k nze allion 18-20k prados 25k like that.

Mwatha, It depends on the arrangement they have with the clearing agent. If no arrangement ni 4 days, others 15 and some 21

Then my forwarding agents have some good arrangement with the CFS.
