If euroland goes kaboom coz of the debt bomb then all equity markets will behave like a repeat of GFC. But euroland unravelling is much worse than lehman since these will be sovereign default triggering and not companies!

We have been waiting too long for eurozone to go Kaboom...

I think Eurozone countries will be forced into a complete fiscal union that will completely solve the issues!

I also think Kenya is reaching a decoupling phase with Europe!

$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

KE econ sectors already affected by euroland decay include tourism, aviation, horticulture and partly tea esp Britain, which is in a recession despite hosting the current Olympics. All these are fx earners and needed to shore up fx reserves as well as export revenues to fix the widening trade deficit.

KES has also gained this year vs EUR and likely to push sub 100/- towards 96/- like back in 2010 after Greece default threat became visible. This will continue to squeeze euro exporters earnings.

We'll send them aid in return of more capital reciepts, FDI & Portfolio inflows. Plus diaspora in the West should bring more of their brains & money back home.
