Charging someone for a service or product you did not provide is either obtaining by false pretence, stealing or fraud.
So these hospitals are doing it all the time and getting away with it. Let those moms whose lives have been irrevocably disrupted do what they need to do.
Doctors in Kenya are a group of people who protect each other more than the mungiki. Try getting a doctor to support a malpractice issue.
If these women are feeling aggreived by this issue and more than 300 of them have signed a petition, I'm more inclined to believe them than a CEO who is acting callously to say the least.
Maybe this will lead to other women in more hospitals standing up for what has become a very dangerous thing to do. Give birth.
