Quote:As a woman I strongly believe that women should be financially empowered, my mum advised me to never be dependent on a man 100% and I find it to be true. I see so many women trapped in unhappy marriages and they cant get out because the husband is the bread winner. I honestly do not understand this way of thinking, because I would rather go and sell veggies at marikiti than live in misery. Anyways my point is let us not be quick to place all the blame on the woman, only she knows the kind of hell she was going through that made her do this. Instead lets encourage safe surrender, no questions asked!
I echo your sentiments wholeheartedly.
The story is too deep I can't believe what I did for that lady and child.
But the woman was an orphan and her dad was
abusive and ruthless in every sense esp towards the mum and family in genaral.
I think she rebelled early in life cz that wasn't the first baby to be killed. She had dropped out of school and her life took a downward slope.
They had all given up on her and left her to the world.
That aside, I agree that women need to be empowered, but in our society an empowered woman is regarded as a vain one.Men hate the idea of an empowered woman esp in Africa because they feel their roles are threatened.
Many ladies get married to escape poverty from their homes and depend on the man fully to get her family out of poverty.
It's a societal mentality that man must provide but I think that has had been misunderstood.
Many women will hold on to 'God have mercy relationships'for the sake of kids, finance but not LOVE.
That really sucks. Can you imagine living ur whole life trapped in a loveless relationship?
As in till ur 75 years old? you will die very fast.
