The story if true is chilling to the core but the investigative piece cannot go unchallenged for some reasons.I see no gain as a country to protect a most wanted fugitive, in any case we loose, add the poor name.... Anyway, material facts for such are reactive journalism are necessary and in my assessment, they were lacking in some instances (I'll dwell on the memos/letters)...
>>>As a responsible journalist,JAN in his own admission failed to authenticate the said letters/memo and the authors as well, was it too hard?
>>>For a fact, in the year 2000, there was no Ministry of State for Defence (MOSD, some letters bears the name.
>>>The same letters are signed on behalf of PS,MOSD...again no substantive PS back then.

Too many questions and inconsistencies on the alleged letters alone???? On that front of inciting and dragging the KDF name, to me is is a big fail.

The story actually lacks credibility on so many levels. Like Kabuga had the alleged informer picked up and tortured in his presence until he admitted to working with the FBI, and then let him go alive to write a note about it.

And on top of that, just how much can you pay the foot soldiers (like bodyguards, thugs, junior policemen, cooks etc) you would need to keep his presence a secret when they know they can make USD 5 million merely by ratting him to the FBI?

JAN actually went to the DOD to get confirmation over the letters The military denied ever writing such letters...for the obvious reason ofcourse...no one in his right mind can admit to existent of such letters in the Govt.Kabuga's handlers are smart they cant use their own name in a paper trail, and about the pictures, JAN went to a great length to get authentication of the pictures.

I think you are mistaking an investigative journalist from a trained investigator.JAN might not have all the necessary resources to carry out his investigations so you cant blame him on inadequacies of his evidence...Thats a police job...and the same security apparatus is protecting Kabuga.

Blatant abuse of office, and let down to this republic and constitution that he swore to protect.

Hopefully next year we will hold him and his cronies (Iteere, Gichangi, Karangi, Kimunya et al) to account for their misrule.

I prefer not to talk much on hearsays but dwell on facts. I listened to the expose' and nowhere did JAN admit to having visited DOD, leave alone talking to anyone from there. All he said was they have not gotten back to him on the matter, he had requested more info about.Im just advocating for right information as a consumer of their services and nothing more. Just like many Kenyans, I believe Kabuga is a liability, we need not to make a pet...

Again Christopher (named as relative to Seroney) does not speak the Kenyan accent of Swahili , infact his can be that of a Rwandese.

Secondly Seroney was recruited in 1996 (according to the clip) at 36 years of age??? His 2007 payslip reads 47yrs, and on probation. He also had a suspect cap, similar to those of an AP. d'oh!

If he was re-employed as a defence forces constabulary after retiring, he would still be under probation.

@254, DOD has always been operating under a minister, and of course a PS. The letters were real but fake-probably used by the crooks in the govt to achieve some mission. In my opinion, the story was well investigated, though a few gaps were left out. But it is typical of Kenyans to whine all year round, come rain, come sunshine.

Did we watch the same clip really? go to 0:35:00 and listen....he approached the DOD about the letters and the DOD dismissed them.

Unless you were not attentive, JAN said in the expose that he sought to have a word with the DOD and no one responded to this request. Secondly...the Department of Defense has been there even when there was no Ministry of Defense. I remember I went to sch with one kid of mwana jeshi and the kid had everything marked DOD including his towel and bed sheets.

If he is not Kabuga...why is there no official word from the army considering that the allegations are dire. That Muthee is a look a like a hired goon
