Three Kenyan insurance
firms are eyeing Tanzania as their first market in their regional expansion strategy.
UAP, CIC and APA Insurance companies are in talks with local firms in Tanzania to get a piece of the market.

I think political uncertainity in S Sudan makes Tz a more compromise expansion region.

You are on the right track, its 18% of their reinsurance programmes not policies. Reinsurance programes are approximately 7% of premium written (policies) (eg CIC could write abt 8 billion a year hence reinsurance programme is abt 560mln mln So if Kenya Re get 18%, its the 18% of the 7% which is appx 100 million Kshs.

I thought this arrangement of insurance companies with Kenya Re was to end sometime soon, was it re-negotiated?

Has the listing date been firmed up at 19th July or there is a possibility of further postponement? Any one lucky enough to have talked with guys at CIC or their transaction advisers?

Possibly 6-7 during the first day, corresponding to 120-140 pre-split price.

@PKoli if my memory serves me right the pre split price was 70-80... This actually corresponds with 3.5-4bob..

I dont expect it above 5bob on the first day!
