Post a sound clip for diagnosis.

As @ndume suggests; it will probably be a very basic problem. I had similar noise with my car, it turned to be the bonnet: it was not latching tightly enough. So I adjusted the rubber cushions on either side.

Check also the mountings - both for gear box and engine.

Your mechanic is incompetent! Worn CV joints make noise only when the vehicle is turning round a corner, not when stationary!!!!

And the ones at Toyota Kenya (or any other dealer for that matter) are even worse!

Thanks for your response, actually its not the bonnet, this knocking happens when the car is on motion especially when on low speed, if i engage neutral still when on motion the sound isnt there.

Remember incompetent mechanics can make you spend money on guess work Liar . Please do not replace any more part until you're sure of the problem.

I suspect one of the below:
- torn gearbox mounting or
- loose nuts holding the clutch system hence causing vibration when you release clutch

It's now two weeks, are you still pushing the poor car? And why do you think we don't need an update after soliciting our opinions? Some people can be mean d'oh!

Most people told you to check the exhaust mountings, engine n GB mountings. Did you even check those?? I highly suspect the exhaust pipe system knocking on the body at low revs.
