Your mechanic is incompetent! Worn CV joints make noise only when the vehicle is turning round a corner, not when stationary!!!!
And the ones at Toyota Kenya (or any other dealer for that matter) are even worse!
Thanks for your response, actually its not the bonnet, this knocking happens when the car is on motion especially when on low speed, if i engage neutral still when on motion the sound isnt there.
Remember incompetent mechanics can make you spend money on guess work
. Please do not replace any more part until you're sure of the problem.
I suspect one of the below:
- torn gearbox mounting or
- loose nuts holding the clutch system hence causing vibration when you release clutch
