Just teach your kids well. There was alcohol freely accessible in our house and none of us touched it. Kama mtoto wako ni mkora, look at how you raised them.

Like @Mahegoat, I am a teetotaler so i wouldn't keep alcohol in the house anyway.

However, even if i used to drink, i probably would drink out there and not bring it home. That is me...

"...some restaurants have been unable to rein in parents who expose their kids to alcohol and smoking despite the rules and regulations regarding those who are under 18. A series of weekends spent by Saturday Magazine at various establishments revealed that many parents take alcohol during the family outing, with the bulk of child care and engagement left to house girls.

At another entertainment joint in Upper Hill, a dancing competition led by a face painted comedian left some parents with mouths wide open at the erotic nature of the dance moves. Catherine Wanjiku, a mother of one, walks away in shame each time she bumps into a dancing competition during her family outings. Girls as little as six have been known to shake their behinds and move closer to boys as the crowds cheer. “Today I saw one, aged about eight, unzip her tight jeans, as the song says, with the comedian urging revellers to cheer her on,” says Wanjiku. Even worse, the businesswoman adds, was the fact that the girl’s mother of the girl was one of her ardent fans: “I wondered what else the girl knew...

As a parent,do your best to bring up your kid the best way possible.Do not compare yourself with your child when it comes to morals and character, they will grow up to be their own beings.Keep alcohol away from kids and talk to them about alcohol abuse,so that if they end up drunkards whether bright in school or not they will not blame you for the misgivings that may arise due to their alcoholism. With threads like this we should not be vague about it ,if not us our children and friends and others will be affected by your child if they end up a drunkard(drug abuse)in the future. It may even affect you directly.
Thats my view.

You know at such times I tell myself shauri yao na mtoto wao.It disgusts me yet there isn't much one can do if the parents approve.
Again you will see how harsh these crazy parents become when the girl hits teenage and wants to explore club life early.
These are the type who in teenage make parents wonder if parenting is any worth cz teenage is the perfect time to see the results of what you exposed ur child to as they grew.
