BAT is trading on a P/E of 11 and historically it has a P/E of 18-20..

It has a dividend yield of 9% and historically it has a 6.5% dividend yield..

Dont forget expansion into South Sudan and Rwanda... I expect 2012 profits to be up 50-70%...

Going by these I think BAT ought to be trading at 500bob a share...

The only reason i actually hold this thing is because every single buddy of mine is a chain smoker... smile

Investors are taking positions on BAT due to the following reasons:-

1. Interim dividend

2. BAT is an exporter-it is most likely to benefit from a weak Shilling.

Not this reason.. The interim dividend is usually a tiny 3.50 which is only 1% yield!!

At Ksh.390 today (05.07.2012) where is BAT headed to? Last year they published their half year results on 08.07.2011.

BAT just announced HY results. They look nice, everything up except the dividends maintained at KES 3.5. I think they are reserving everything for FY.

BAT @ 409bob. This stock is setting new highs. Isn't time the share was split?

It looks very likely that a 10:1 split will be done sooner rather than later...

Stock splits pros & cons.

I have always preferred stocks that don't split. Let those that can afford it buy it. Same as buying a Mercedes or a Toyota. Smart money also likes such stocks since they don't have crowds! Greed is selfish.

With BAT it may be a bit different..

With BAT having only 100million shares listed & more than 60% with the parent company smart money is not as interested as it could be because of lack of liquidity!

With the price being too high for Wanjiku who then will invest in BAT?
