"In the eyes of many objective people, the ICC is merely a Western liberal busy-body service delivering geopolitical benefits as needed and also well-paid jobs for the "humanitarians" who would otherwise be almost completely unemployable.

In that way it has a lot in common with the physical colonialism West used to engage in that was also all about geopolitical benefits and jobs for the adventurers and surplus population at home. But this time is easier, no jungles or danger, just empty pontificating and feeling superior to the "savages" in good Dutch restaurants. The impulse is the same.

If the West was serious about a concept like ICC, they would start with themselves, with their endless bombing campaigns, their opportunistic invasions and regime changes, with the endless "collateral" victims. Thet was never going to happen. So they just chase villains in far away countries, or sometimes demonize enemies or outsiders. All to feel better about themselves. This is not justice, this is simply silly self-therapy combined with profitable sinecures."
