Do they have to hold investors at ransom for their slow pace in putting up basic infrastructure like piped water, sewerage systems, basic amenities like bus parks etc???

Olkejuado County Council has placed a blanket moratorium on the sub-division of land in its "key urban centres" as it seeks to control frenetic construction in a move expected to severely constrict supply of plots around Nairobi.

What does key urban centres imply? Do areas like Kisaju or Oloitikosh apply?

i think it is a good idea because we need to start planning. Houses should be in order that provide security and privacy, roads should be wide enough to accomodate services. I think in every town whether small or big should have high and low density areas also areas for farming to provide locally cheap food

can't agree more! We have been creating more slums instead of making our cities better!

Guys advertise for serviced plots then you find there is no sewage, no roads, no nothing! This has to end

Is Kajiado land subdivision freeze still in place? I have one acre that I would like to subdivide but in June 2015 I heard that subdivisions were not being approved by Kajiado County. Any updates are welcome.

Very true. It has been business as usual in Kajiado.

Thanks Gathige and Maka for response. I got more insights that the so called 'special lands board' is no more; and I have to present a strong case during Lands Board hearing to allow for subdivision of an acre into 1/8s. You are right it has been business as usual.
