I just saw some clip on youtube about Gikuyu, Mumbi, the 9 daughters and the Akamba. So, apparently there was a 10th daughter who got impregnated by her nephew and Gikuyu was not amused so he kicked them out of Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga to which they went and formed their own clan, the Akamba. I tried finding the tales of the Akamba origin but no Mkamba friend of mine knows any. Does anyone have a different version of the Akamba origin? What are the tales of origin for the other Kenyan tribes? Garden of Eden

I think NCIC was clear in supporting discussing ethnicity in this process of healing. One is able to accomodate another when you appreciate their story and you can only do this by hearing and listening to their story. If we all fret Kibunjia and never discuss ethnicity then the tribal gaps will only grow bigger.

If you talk to the old Wakambas, they will tell you of their journey from Shimba hills[that area] after crossing over from Tanzania [the late Bingu wa Mutharika clan related to the Wakamba], thru' mbooni ,,,,.. The stories of mumbi are generally confined in and around Mt.Kenya[kirinyaga].

How will Kaos think of you if you view them and refer to them as products of illicit romantic relationship within a Gikuyu in the house of mumbi? @Mkeiyd...mukurwe wa nyagathanga is in Muranga county
@Impunity...that is not my view, it's a Kikuyu lore that state that and this is not in any way a creation based on current politics. these are lores passed from centuries ago. It could be true or not, the only way to know is to ask.

Kikuyu and other Central Bantus are only 3rd wave immigrants from the Cameroon-Congo area, among the last to check in around 1500 AD.

I remember learning in class 3 that Masais believe that they fell from heaven with their cattle and that the Nyamwezi of Tanzania believe that they came from the moon. Most Bantus are said to have originated from Congo area, I remember hearing someone say that specically kambas originated from Katanga in DRC.

Is there any substantive research that has been done to prove this? Are there any similarities in the lingo spoken there? I know the Kamba language is spoken in TZ and the Kenyan coastal strip "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. Cannibalism has been with us for long. and by us i mean all humankind. growing up in Githurai there was this home called 'kwa githu' (belonging to githu) who was rumoured to eat whoever crosses his compound n pple avoided the hole radius from his house for years, i think they still do. whether true or not, whoever came up with the story must have had some knowledge of existense of cannibalism. You cannot make this stuff up like Jeff says

These kind of stories scare the hell out of me. "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.
