@madollar, What does that mean?
@mkeiyd - He means that Bolt has to break the world record to stand any chance of retaining the 100 & 200 metres gold! Any [even slightly] slower speed and Yohan eats his breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!
Come srowry!!! Lets put a few things in perspective. Yohan Blakes winning time in 100m was 9.75s and in 200m it was 19.80s. Usain Bolts best times in both events are 9.58 and 19.19. In 100m times Usain at his fastest will be halfway through his lap of honor by the time Blake gets to the finish line. Usain Bolt has the slowest reaction time of all the greats, by the time he gets off the blocks akina Blake and Asafa are usually close to the halfway mark. He makes up for it with the best acceleration and highest top speed achieved. A little more work in reaction time and Oh!! boy!! that will be one race not miss at the Olympics.
I somehow am getting a feeling Bolt is setting us up. Think about it, he is a very showbiz guy and he knows winning the Jamaican qualifiers is not as hot news around the world than losing. What better way to build up expectation and suspense than by coming in second at the qualifiers. Just a crazy thought.
I think we might also witness a new world record on the 4 by 100. I think other countries like the US who think they have a chance at the 4 by 100 should employ a Juju man to curse the Jamaicans to drop the baton or false start or do something that will get them disqualified because beating them just by running will be impossible. Hawesmek!!
