I am looking forward to try my hand in markets such as the NYSE in the near future and I need to begin my research now. Some of you might be in NYSE already and could have some idea about brokers you have worked seamlessly with. Of cause I can read around their profiles on the internet, but your tips will be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

You'll need a broker with a small comission when placing trades.
If you get any better than zecco tell me.
Try zecco.com

i use zecco.its the best and cheapest.been with them since 08.Daytrading US equities is a losers game. The house wins almost always in the long run.short term trading is better with the crazy market volatility.

For NYSE/NASDAQ ONLY
I recommend
(i) Etrade www.etrade.com

(ii) Ameritrade www.tdameritrade.com
Their commission is reasonable USD 9.99 per trade

FOR US & CANADIAN MARKET USING SAME BROKER

check out
www.penntrade.com

The downside of penntrade is their high commission circa USD 30 per trade

Short the stocks(global). The outlook isn't pretty for now.
Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.

TD Ameritrade will do Canadian options for you at same rate as American at no ectra costs, if you put $2k you do 60 free trades for 1st two more, after uniform 9.99 per trade(uniform) Much easier if you are based there

Etrade & Ameritrade anytime. I wonder what @Mainat uses...

Still doing my homework and don't think I will be putting in real money till next year. I will make do with some virtual trades until I am comfortable.
