Hey Wazua, can anyone tell me where I can buy construction material in Nairobi? Examples are:

1. Blockboard
2. Floor tiles
3. Cement
4. Wood paint
5. Wiring cables, sockets, etc

I intent to purchase them tomorrow.

lots of options: depending on price and quality you want will determine the places to be advised.

@ AlphDoti,Binding is used in flush doors to cover the edges/ the thickness part. Its cost depends on type of wood material and normally its 45mm wide.

@lexx, that was new to me, I learnt it today.

I shopped around and found what I wanted:
1. Block board => Central Auto & Hardware Ltd
2. Floor tiles => best deal in Al-Karim Hardware Limited i.e. 30x30 for sh850 per 17piece carton.
3. Binding planed 1x1/2 and 2x1 => Timber Corner Ltd
4. Paint - undercoat & gloss (crown) => Timber Corner
5. Items such as Cement, wire nails etc are generally same price in all shops.

Where is 2 and 3 located?Are the tiles local or chinese?

2. Tiles - Al Karim Hardware Ltd, Dunga Rd & Dar Es Salaam junction, Industrial Area (opposite Impala). They are Chinese. Local are found in Flamingo Tiles (Kenya) Ltd, along Mombasa Rd sh1600/carton.
3. Timber Corner Ltd, Enterprise Rd, Industrial Area.
