Just kiddin . anyway if you want some quick gains how about some kcb . i heard nssf will be mopping up shares to get a board seat. so you bet there's gonna be a rally [/quote]

Where does it say NSSF is moping up KCB shares? rink?

I read a Business daily article about it but no mention of moping up shares. It said they will get a board seat next year, which they were promised by the major shareholder GOK.

So where is the story of moping up, rink tafadhali.

Karibu @MamboKesho. As a fresher, One of the many geniuses you have to follow is @QW.

@QW, there will be NO mopping up of KCB shares by NSSF. NSSF is the 2nd largest shareholder of roar (approx 8% at DEC11) and the board seat to be vacant 2013 will be through kuelewana kimwanaume (even the number one shareholder, GOK does'nt have the 25% threshold)

@ mambokesho. Where have you been all this time ?
Basically we are in buy mode. I'd look for stocks with huge volume and are moving. The index is up approximately 16% and we have held onto the gains since jan and thats a good sign .
Am seeing a test of 4k mark so you better load up coz its gonna be a nice ride up .

KCB/Kenya Re/BAT/KK... And never look back..

@proverB is right.. there is no point of diversifying 150k unless you choose KK..

Neveready is a no no. the 150k you have also depends on the timelines you are willing to wait. O'wise go KCB, Memba and like 30k in KK aka PUMA just in case - called speculation

Buy 5000 shares of KK tomorrow at 13.30 and sell the same by end of July at 18 when the dust has settled and PUMA is in.

Dont be scared by what QW's calls technical anaysis. It does not work at NSE, hizo ni za wazungu market.

Many greetings Wazuarians,
I have never invested in stocks and I want to start by putting 150K.I am looking for low value stocks with potential of shortterm growth and good dividends payment history. Please advise me on mix to go with?Regards

@mambokesho you have already committed your first blunder...you do not invest in stocks you buy companies. You look for companies with low valuation, good management and high growth prospects and buy those companies at a bargain. KCB is a safe bet for now but if you like risk go for CFC Holdings or kengen for shortterm growth...either way you will learn through experience investment takes time to master
