Kenswitch have pulled a fast one. You'll now be charged 60/- for withdrawals on Kenswitch ATMs. I guess the best place to store cash is in your phone (mpesa).

BBI will solve it

I think IMO they are making a mistake. They will make pple use them for emergency cases only and boost the business of big banks who have a large ATM network.

Take KCB or Equity for instance they charge I think 30Bob and they are all over the country this is an opportunity for them.

Kenswitch is a darling of small banks but what it has done is loose its price advantage and now they are at par with Pesapoint...Pesapoint must be smilling now.

Very true. I think over and above giving the bigger banks an advantage, I think they've given the mobile money an even bigger market as all people will have to do is withdraw most of their salary and load it into their phones where they can withdraw at 25/- instead of 60/- per withdrawal

BBI will solve it

My bank is also on Kenswitch and this link http://www.imbank.com/KE/inner.asp?cat=general says:
"KShs 30/- per withdrawal for I&M Bank , KShs 45 per withdrawal for Kenswitch ATMs, Kshs 75/- per withdrawal for local Visa ATMs"

BTW: KCB is also a Kenswitch affiliate, but they charge an extra Sh10 to non-customers.
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

That's my point. They didn't even bother to inform consumers. I bank with CBA (very disappointing that a bank of this status doesn't own one ATM) and I was surprised when I got a message on the ATM that I will be charged 30/- above the normal rate.

CBA do have its own ATM.

It however sucks for Kenswitch to raise the fee to 60 bob secretly. Same case being applied by Sufferincom claiming free BB internet whereas secretly they charge you. NKT

Kenswitch allows you to pretend to own the ATM if they install one in your premises. That's why you don't see a Kenswitch or pesapoint sign on BBK, Stanchart and Stanbic.

Quite a number of banks own their atms but use kenswitch as their switch provider. On atms that use kenswitch switch, kenswitch advertises. Beleive me CBA has 20+ atms of their own.

The date on the link DOES NOT matter!

These are the CURRENT tariffs charged by the bank since that date. Since this is what they have advertised in their website, then it means that since October last year (less than a year ago!), there hasn't been any change.

If they are charging more, then customers must report the matter to CBK. It is clearly against the rules to charge more than what is advertised!

That rate is so not true! With the interest rates so high and customers not taking loans, trust the banks to find other avenues to rob their customers. Sad really.
