The story didnt say "had it with an african" it said "had it in africa"..... meaning, if you are a Northern Irelander and you travelled to Kenya/TZ/UG/wherever in africa for a safari and had it with your wife, you still cant donate.... My understanding of ...

Quite unfortunate for a minister to say that...Me thinks they misspelled(sp) his name,is it really Poots,or they exchanged the 't' with 'p',coz whatever he said sounds like the his name with a 'p' where 't' is.

He meant sex with Africans. Infact,he didn't make an apology when offered the chance. He says the reason for discouraging blood donations from people who have had sex with Africans is because HIV prevalence is high among us nyeuthis.

Yes, kizungu has to be hard for him. He is not an Englishman.

The only thing that pops to mind is the unique HIV strain found in Africa (I think HIV1?). I think its a reasonable al the same. Do we not get quarantined (or denied travel) when we travel without yellow fever/cholera vaccines? I think its perfectly OK to make such restrictions.
