Death is always a big loss and sad affair so pole to the families. But I will not forget in Dec 2007 when Moses Ole Sakuda had an unassailable lead against Saitoti during vote counting in Kajiado North, then all of a sudden, lights went off and armed body guards sneaked in ballot papers in favour of saitoti..perhaps he should have just accepted defeat?

Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God."

It's statements like these that continue fanning hatred in similar fashion to the PEV. Whether you choose to mourn him or not, that's your personal choice which you need to keep to yourself. Silence is also a virtue.

On the contrary, it is sweeping important discussions such as this under the carpet that resulted in PEV. If someone was corrupt, then it cannot be disrespect to say so. It may be insensitive to the family, but these are facts which must be faced.

@Mozenrat my point is simple sorry I digressed...look at all those who have shown interest in becoming the President next year how many of them pass the integrity test...Exodus 18:21..."able men such that fear God,men of truth,hating covetousness and place such over them,to be rulers of thousands and rulers of hundreds...ummmh according to me majority of them dont fit the bill yet will vote for them,complain when things go wrong and then talk badly of them when they die.The prof wasn't the straightest of people but he,s already a bygone if you mourn or don't mourn its up to you...

@Maka

I don't understand why you are dragging you lopsided interpretation of the bible here. I can bet if i looked through the old testament (which by the way is just a history of the origins of Judaism) I would find a clause that I can use to justify killing someone, "an eye for an eye" etc.

The fact that some here choose to openly give their opinions in death is not out of disrespect for the dead, its a simple statement of fact.

Had the late Saitoti been an upright citizen following the law, then he would have a hired a properly serviced private chopper and may be the results would have been different. Or he could have lost his seat in 2007 or....etc.

If what happened yesterday was fiction in a book titled The ill-fated flight, Mr Katabaruga , my Literature in English teacher who taught me many years back would have told me that the crash was symbolic. He would have told me that it epitomized God’s rejection of the money that was to be fundraised. He would also have told me that it was a warning for Caesar to keep off children of God. The Clergy at the same time should also evaluate their involvement with politicians. If this is not heeded, then God would continue to be angry. That is what Mr Katabaruga would have analyzed the situation, in the novel, The ill fated flight, not me.

I said he WASNT the straightest of fellows but he,z already dead talking about him won't change anything.
@Obi 1Kanobi FYI...you can actually hire the police chopper for whatever function you want to go for,just the way you can hire a police officer to man your house or transport cash and pay the police department for those services...

And why do politicians rush to disaster scenes, further complicating the work of rescue workers and forensic experts? This is a stupid thing to do! With normal crowds, at least they can be marshalled off by the cops,..now with these 'VIPs',...its all oh 'mheshimiwa amekuja',..some sort of protocol comes into play, other busybodies who come along with the politician trample all over the place. Its ridiculous. Can't they wait till experts have processed and cleared the site first?

Whether you mourn him or not doesn't matter. Its your Opinion.

To many he was a hero and to many he was a thug who isn't worth being mourned for

The bottom line is the late Prof Saitoti Children and grand children will be rich for ever.

Will yours be?

I salute George Saitoti for the work he did at the Education Ministry on the Free Primary Education programme. As Internal Security minister he worked hard to keep Kenya safe. Orwa Ojode inspired confidence as an assistant minister who was hands-on in his docket.
It is for the good they did, no matter how little that I mourn their deaths.
