A recent released report by UN depicts Nakuru as the fastest growing town in Kenya.

It makes more sense to invest/buy land in Nakuru than in Mombasa.

@faa

Haiya, must everything be in that context, our problem is really big.
All the first big cities/towns in Kenya have airports, the next one in line is Nakuru.

Trust some people to drag backward ethnic politics into everything. Then when violence breaks out you want to appear as angels and blame it on the politicians! Shame!

@ Murchr,
Had not thought of the exports. But still, would these sustain the Cargo planes.Are volume adequate. Please pleaselook at it in view of business viability and nothing else.

@Matata,

Good point, if sustainable and can create jobs, then definately why not.

"JKIA is now the biggest cargo Airport in Africa facilitating 300 million Kilograms of cargo annually which puts it miles ahead of Johannesburg and Cairo.

A bulk of this cargo comprise of fresh fruit/veg and flowers which are grown in the rift-valley and central- Naivasha, Nyahururu, Narok, Olkalau etc. Besides that, tourists from Msa can fly straight to Nakuru if they so wish to explore the rift once they are done with the coast.

Sometimes its impossible to land in Nrb because of the weather, esp in the morning, Nakuru will be a good alternative since its only a 2 hr drive to nrb, just incase one has business to attend to. Yesterday's incident should have taught us something.

You can't resist the urge to put down the people of Nyanza/western.

You are reading too much into this....the other day we saw RAO's sister asking the govt to put up a cargo terminal at the Kisumu Int. Airport...to me that's a waste...

Kanobi stop the lamentations.

Hyacinth products find their way abroad.What the traders need are more markets and support.

Ok forget the term omena, but we had a big fish client from kisumu.

The business of airports is to receive/despatch pasengers (people), ever heard of JKIA, OT, Heathrow, etc, what do you think their core business is, its passengers not cargo.

I disagree.What are freighters on some routes for? Cargo volumes demand for them.

esp here in Kenya.Cargo traffic is juu sana
